Women's Event 2009

Early last month we attended the annual Women's Event at the LGBT Center of New York. This year they were honoring Broadway Producer Robyn Goodman, Beth Simchat Torah Spiritual Leader Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, as well as celebrating the appointment of their new director Glennda Testone.

In true Velvetpark fashion we did a few impromptu off-the-cuff interviews with Kelli O'Donnell, Molly Ringwald and other visible LGBT leaders.

LOOKS like fun.

Wish I was able to hear more of what was said. I know there is often no way to control background noise. Have you ever considered doing a link for a transcript for of these shorter ones? In your copious free time, of course.

Really putting the proof to that cute declaration at eth end there.  Wink

Excellent!

Straight Molly Ringwald thinks gay marriage is a civil right, huh? Interesting...you wouldn't believe how many LGBT people I talked to in ME that said it wasn't....people weren't interested in civil rights! Can you see where my frustrations are coming from? To say the least, my meetings after the election were enlightening...

Thanks, Grace, for the conversations....and what's the big deal with being called a dyke? I'm a dyke...you a dyke?
