Mad Man Living in Portland Texas Guns Down Teen Lesbian Couple
Texas…a place a I called home for a year and half, a place that I had the worst time in my life, the place that I made the best friends, and the place I had considered moving back to. Texas is also the place where the sodomy law was struck down see Lawrence vs. Texas. Not including George Bush, Texas has some good sides. Recently however, Texas has shown the ugly that still remains when people of the same sex love each other in public.
In Portland, Texas (about 8 miles from Corpus Christi), Mollie Judith Olgin,19, and Mary Christine Chapa, 18 were found in knee-deep grass by a couple Saturday. The couple had been together 5 months. Investigators believe that the attacker led them down a trail into tall grass before shooting them with a large-caliber handgun. It was approximately 9 hours before they were found. Olgin’s death was ruled a homicide as she died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the neck. Chapa was rushed to the hospital where she had surgery and is listed in serious but stable condition on Sunday. Chapa was still in the hospital on Monday.

Police have been questioning whether the couple's sexuality may have played a role in the shooting. Portland Police Chief Randy Wright said “that’s always something that we’re looking for, but at this point, we have not been able to establish that that had anything to do with the attack.” Wright told reporters that Chapa is able to communicate but they have not been able to talk with her yet.
So far there are no suspects. The attacker[s] are walking around freely.
Note: I rambled at the beginning because I am unable to do more justice to this. I am very, very saddened by this. It hurts to know little children are being attacked and who they love may be the reason. It doesn’t make it any easier when it is an older person, but something about children dying senselessly just never settles right. Both of their families are in my prayers and I hope whoever did this is wracked with guilt and comes forth.
Rest In Paradise Mollie Judith Olgin.
