EVENT IN THE PHL: Stimulus Screens "Miss Representation" this Thursday
On Thursday March 8, Stimulus Productions will be hosting a screening of the ground-breaking documentary, Miss Representation at William Way Community Center from 6pm-9pm.
The film Miss Representation exposes how American youth are being sold the concept that women and girls’ value lies in their youth, beauty and sexuality. Stimulus Productions hosting this screening, at the start of women's history month, to spark a dynamic conversation about how misogyny and sexism in the media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. Ultimately, Stimulus hopes that this will be the first of many steps to empower the women in our thriving Philly LGBTQ community to unite to eradicate gender stereotypes and pervasive sexism throughout this country and the world.
In addition to providing an awesome opportunity for women in this community to join together, Stimulus is collaborating with invaluable community organizations to bring this event to Philly.
