Gallery Hopping with Grace Moon & Patricia Silva

Welcome to another beautiful fall season of art. Last week Patricia and I took a quick stroll down 22nd Street and saw Carmen McLeod at CRG, Vik Muniz and Sikkema Jenkins, Martha Wilson at P.P.O.W., and Jordan Kantor at Churner and Churner.

This is Carmen McLeod's first solo show in New York, and she debut a seamless combination of paintings and constructions. Patricia pointed out a few of her favorite pieces including a very adept nod to minimalist 70's neon structuralist Dan Flavin.

Vik Muniz returns with more "junk" turned art. And as Patricia so aptly noted I'm a sucker for art historic reference. Hello? drunk dialing Casper David Fredrick. Or is it Fredrick David Casper? Or David Casper Fredrick? Then P.P.O.W., (hah) we hit Martha Wilson's show, a brilliant and humors take on beauty and decay. Wilson, a 2nd waver, shows the kids why she still kicks ass.

And lastly we stopped into talk to Gallerist Rachel Churner who opened her gallery Churner and Churner just last Spring. She's been getting lots of press notice including this review in the New York Times with the opening of current artist Jordan Kantor.
