What's Eating Eric Massa?

The weird trials and travails of yet another closeted gay congressman has a new twist every day hour. If you haven't kept up here's the run down:

Upstate NY Democratic Congressman Eric Massa is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for sexual harassment. He allegedly told a male staffer he should "frack" him, then tousled his hair while inebriated at a wedding. Then in a press interview Massa slammed Rahm Emanuel as the "Devil's Spawn" recounting an incident in which Emanuel allegedly bullied Massa in the showers at the congressional gym:

I am showering, naked as a jaybird, and here comes Rahm Emanuel, not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest, yelling at me.

In the hopes of getting Massa to dish on the Democratic Party Glen Beck invited the congressman on his show. What transpired in their Tuesday night interview was pure entertainment gold. Massa confessed to the shenanigans with his staffer saying:

Not only did I grope him, I tickled him until he couldn't breathe. "I should have never allowed myself to be as familiar with my staff as I was... I own this misbehavior.

A totally befuddled Beck realizing the interview wasn't going as planned, stopped mid-way, looked into the camera and said, "America, I've got to shoot straight with you, I think I've wasted your time..."

No, Beck, no you didn't... we loved it.

Finally Larry King had the balls to ask the question everyone had been thinking:

Kids let this be a lessen to ya, if you lock yourself in the closest you'll only end up coming out in the worst of ways.

I believe him when he says

I believe him when he says it's a compounded reason...and his health issues is the tipping point. People can have multiple reasons for doing anything.

Backing out of office, while clearly unable to deal with the strain of everything and represent to the best of his abilities, is the RIGHT choice.

Massa, with love...please shut-up and just write in a journal, because it would be better and less damaging. People will take everything you say and twist it.
