Since her overwhelming break through last Spring, Susan Boyle's career continues to sky-rocket, while her mental health remains fragile. Her recently released CD, I Dreamed a Dream has already sold close to 2 million copies in the U.S. beating out Eminem for the most CDs sold this year. She also topped the Billboard charts beating Adam Lambert and Rihanna.
The TV Guide Network will be airing a Susan Boyle Holiday Special this Sunday.
However, reports of Susan's melt-downs continue to run the gossip mill. After her performance for the Today Show, on Nov 23rd the National Examiner reported:
Her performance went well, but after the show, things got weird.
Boyle retreated to a restaurant at Rockefeller Center and began to act strangely.
witness states that Boyle suddenly started sucking her thumb and began crying intensely while holding her head in her hands.
“It was clear she was still very fragile and struggling to cope with the fame,” said the witness. “You can only hope for her sake that she can get through the next few weeks when she will be the focus of too much attention.”
Yesterday Fresh Air ran a review of Susan's CD. If you are interested in listening to Susan's vocal talents beyond her BGT appearances, listen to the interview below.

Wild horses couldn't drag her away.
Beautiful music
She sang a song. She dreamed a dream. She made us feel and gave us hope.
I wish her well.
I wish her well.
Still searching for the right brainy quote.
Agreeing with that sentiment
Agreeing with that sentiment 100%

Mmmmm, she performed on The X
Mmmmm, she performed on The X Factor (basically the equivalent of Idol) over here a couple of weeks back and the post-performance chat was a bit strained. She does appear to be totally overwhelmed by it all. I have to say that I am gobsmacked by the CD sales - it's one thing gaining the affection of an audience on reality TV but I really didn't think so many people would buy her CD!
