Bringing hard-hitting, queer performances to audiences around the world, the team at Sister Spit, spearheaded by Michelle Tea, have collaborated with City Lights Books to publish an anthology about the joys, trials, and tribulations of their roadshow, entitled Sister Spit: Writings, Rants & Reminiscence from the Road, edited by Michelle Tea.
The anthology, the first to be published under the City Lights/Sister Spit imprint, will be available in October 2012 and its writers and editor will follow its publication with a promotional tour across the U.S.: LA (18 Oct); San Fran (24 Oct); Berkeley (25 Oct); Portland (8 Nov); and NYC (15 Nov).
Contributors include Ali Liebegott, (one of our Top 25 of 2011) Elisha Lim, Eileen Myles, Lenelle Moise, Kat Marie Yoas, and many more—twenty-two selections in total comprise this generically diverse collection. Writing, Rants & Reminiscence from the road, indeed, reads like a journal written and drawn (as there are a handful of comics entries) by many little queer hands.
So if you've missed out on the live performances and are jonesing for some Sisterly goodness, I highly recommend this book.
October seems so far away now....ammi right?
