Rush Limbaugh, Miss America Judge

There's nothing like a beauty pageant to get me all riled up. Just when I think they can't get any worse...

1) In perhaps the most fitting decision Miss America has ever made, Rush Limbaugh has been employed as a judge for the 2010 pageant. He will be fulfilling his wet dreams as human barbies from around the country compete for his approval. This might out-do last year's Carrie Prejean's "opposite marriage" debacle! Yay!

2) I thought nothing could be more offensive than that makeover show The Swan, that thank goddess FOX cancelled years ago. The charming reality show featured "ugly duckling women" who were made over into "beautiful swans" via dermabrasion, porcelain veneers and plastic surgery and THEN made to compete in a beauty pageant against each other.

But this one comes close: Miss Homeless. You heard me right. This unbelievable exploitative contest, held in Belgium, awards the winner a rent-free apartment for one year.

"Contest organiser Aline Duportail told how she hoped the competition would draw attention to the plight of the homeless. She said 'It was about the contestants' inner strength and determination to get themselves out of their old life and on a new path.'" [Sun]

While we're debating the world's most offensive beauty pageants, let's enjoy a clip from the gem, Toddlers & Tiaras on TLC.

Crazy just keeps coming

Amy, this reminds me once again that the world is a crazy place! Also, my cat saw that photo of Rush Limbaugh and went to hide under the bed.

what the hump?

Amy, this is going to be a really bad news day if the offense on top of offense in this blog is any indication. I'm going to need a lot more coffee to face today.
