Queer Docu-webseries SIGNIFIED Breaks Boundaries, Is AWESOME

Brooklyn-based artists-slash-filmmakers-slash-really-RILLLY-rad-chicks Anna Barsan and Jessie Levandov have created a docu-webseries called SIGNIFED that is utterly fantastic—not to mention totally worthy of your time. (I know ye spend hours online trolling the interwebz.)

SIGNIFIED, according to their website, "is a web-based multi-platform documentary project that aims to increase visibility of queer identified individuals and organizations as well as create local, regional, and international networks for community organizing and resource sharing.  The project is comprised of an ongoing web series of short video profiles, an online platform for educational resource exchange as well as an ongoing discussion forum featuring the work of a diverse range of queer people and organizations."

Barsan and Levandov have created a Kickstarter site in the hope of raising enough funds to continue their project. (Visit thissignified.com for more deets. The deadline for Kickstarter contributions is 1 December 2011.)

In the meantime, you can watch all the episodes of Season One over at Signified's website—here's ep 4, featuring the Brooklyn boihood:
