If you look around the women’s underwear market today, you can see a lot of skimpy cuts. A lot of flowers. A lot of lace. And a lot of pink. Or, to put it succinctly: a lot of skimpy, flowery, lacy, pink underwear. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, you can find bland and boring solid colors on most basic boy-shorts. The market is dominated by a limited number of players. But not all women are satisfied with these options, or want to wear these gendered (and sometimes uncomfortable) intimates.
Unhappy with these choices, Abby Sugar and her girlfriend Sylvie Lardeux are trying to change the women’s underwear game with a new lesbian-inspired line of underwear, called Play Out. Their underwear features a wide waistband and cotton fabric, and is available in three styles, including the pièce de résistance—a women’s boxer brief. Their underwear is offered in three fun and fresh graphic patterns, with more to come.
To bring lesbians everywhere this new underwear, Play Out is currently raising money on Kickstarter. Watch the video here and visit http://www.playout-underwear.com/ksshare to spread the word and donate, and to get a pair of Play Out underwear for yourself!
