You’re bound to become a buddha if you practice.

If water drips long enough Even rocks wear through.

My mind is hard....

when it comes to man-made religions.... it would take a Zenful woman to soften it using enlightening explanation....and by having the patience of a drip

Welcome to the Jungle?

For those who just can't get enough of Cops or LAPD: Life in the Streets, or just want more realism than TV can offer, here's a gem from last Saturday's LA Times...

After a VIP tour last weekend, a new tour company called LA Gang Tours plans to offer excursions through South Los Angeles and Watts beginning in January.

The tour is expected to last about 2 hours, and will run $65.00 per person.  Featured extras include buying a graffiti t-shirt customized by local taggers (while you're wearing it), and dance off contests between locals (the tourists will pick the winners, and pony up the prize money).  Plans to have active gang members shoot tourists with water pistols, and then sell them t-shirts with the phrase I got shot in South Central were scrapped, however.

For those not familiar with the area, South Los Angeles, or South-Central as we locals call it, is ground zero and the birthplace of the Crips, Bloods, Florencia 13, and 18th Street gangs, some of the most violent in the world.

No word yet as to how tour promoters plan to protect their customers, or get the cooperation of the gangs in this little venture, especially when word gets out that there are busloads of unarmed out-of-town tourists carrying significant cash cruising through one of the most violent neighborhoods in the US.

The non-profit company plans to use some of the proceeds to expand the tours into other high crime and gang controlled neighborhoods.

A zen joke:

Practice also gets you booked at Carnegie Hall. Wink

Still searching for the right brainy quote.

I'm not sure to get exactly

I'm not sure to get exactly what a Buddha is, because, if its like Tao and cannot be rendered into speech... at least for the Carnegie Hall, you have a partition to work on.
