Hate does not dispel hate,
Hate does not dispel hate, but sometimes love doesn't do it either. Sometimes it requires a lot of different energies: patience, logic, determination, stubbornness, legal proceedings, protests, disruption of the status quo, etc.
It is my belief that
It is my belief that patience, logic, determination, stubbornness, legal proceedings, protest and disruption of the status quo may constitute the path to social change through love of the protester. Martin Luther King and Ghandi did not engage in civil disobedience from a position of hate, quite the opposite. They used all of the tools you mentioned to create social change guided by love for humanity and the belief that the actions they took in the name of love could overcome the hate of others.
I'm such Spinosist, i don't
I'm such Spinosist, i don't believe there is a scale of value between emotion, each had its purpose, each have bad side, some peoples need to learn to protect themselves, haven't you heard a woman hit by her boyfriend and saying but i love him. In that case, the woman would have interest to find some hate in her to get the energy to run away, or to fight back.
I had to learn to unlove somehow, not in that kind of case. Its difficult because, you never think that love can be a bad thing. Bad love, mostly hurt the owner, you have to learn to protect yourself and use all emotional resources in an appropriate way

i guess the question is, what
i guess the question is, what is love? just bcs you say it does it make it so?
clarification: just because
clarification: just because you say "it" is love (the dv woman professing her love for her abuser, etc) does that mean what you are experiencing actually is love?

True that. It can be a
True that. It can be a tremendous release, and if briefly employed without harming others, does not harm to one feeling it either.
It's true but I'm not evolved
It's true but I'm not evolved enough to be a saint. There's still a few things and people in this world I hate.

Cats are independent beasts.
Cats are independent beasts. If the house isn't burning down, leave it be. It will come down when it is darn good and ready. Then again, if the house were burning down, I'm pretty sure you would have immediate evidence that it hadn't been stuck at all.

I know, they sound absolutely
I know, they sound absolutely tragic. But the animal behaviorists indicate that it is exceptionally rare that they are actually stuck and longing for someone to bail them out. Supposedly it is more often something below them that is bumming them out.
Thats remind me couple of
Thats remind me couple of year ago, i read an article about the fact that we use to think that animals (except for a mother and child) doesn't help each other and have no compassion for others suffering.
They give examples of elephants who freed gazelles by destroying fence. And also, there is a statue of a cat south of france, a family was hiding in a cave during WW2 with not much food and the cat was going out hunting, every days, all day long to bring them rats, birds, lizards. They said that it keep them alive and strong. After the war, he never go hunting again.
I've found that story so cool.

"Hate never dispels
"Hate never dispels hate."
This reminds me of the weakness in the Sacha Baron Cohen "Bruno" argument (see Bruno blog) that the movie will help dispel prejudices through satire: a movie that covertly ridicules unwitting "candid camera" bigots will never dispel the hate bigots feel towards gay people. There is no overriding social benefit to the movie. It is merely entertainment for some.
