it was suppposed to be a link to the definition of 'fond.' anyway, i find the website to be very good at translations. it has almost everything. so, meeting up wednesday? thought i might hear from you today....
my fondest mem of 2009, When my daughter almost made it all the way through the american idol audtions in orlando fl, (have I mentioned how proud I was of her?) Then she graduated high school June 2009.My visit to NYC to visit with my son who lives in Queens ,never walked so much in my life in the big city, went grocery shopping for him while he was at work forgetting that he lived on the fourth floor. ,Holy crap what a ordeal getting the groceries up those stairs (hey Im old what can I say)..
Being invited to a student's bar mitzvah, and his graduation, and hearing from his mom every day for his first 2 weeks at an alternative post grad program.
Coming out - she told me she is a lesbian. She comes by it naturally. Hm... that may also require explanation. We say it when children are like their parents.
My furry was my best canine buddy, an Australian Sheppard mutt who picked me out at the local animal shelter several years ago. He is gone now, but never forgotten.
Congrats to Ohio State. I am happy that the Big Ten got a win in the Rose Bowl, but of course, I'm always hoping that Michigan is in the game instead of Ohio State.
Weekend in Pittsburgh and touring Falling Water with my friend, Scott, who squeezed my arm so hard it hurt and whispered in my ear like an excited schoolgirl- "We're in Falling Water!"
Moving to Cali. Both the arrival and the actual move- I drove from RI with my car loaded up with camping gear and took 17 days to do it. I saw lots of amazing things. Naturally the Grand Canyon was amazing but the Badlands of South Dakota were so indescribably beautiful I'm still blown away by the memory.
My birthday trip up the California coast. This state is gorgeous. Hearst Castle, the redwood forests, Napa, the coastline itself and (different trip) Santa Catalina Island.
Buying my condo. I really was concerned I'd never be able to afford to buy property in SoCal.
Visualizing and creating San Diego Filmmakers and watching it become such a huge success.
Hawaii! CineVegas (3 years of insanity). Two years spent working for the most frustrating, cheap bastard ever but traveling all across the USA to do it.
Most importantly of all- the incredible people I've met, here and offline, that I will be friends with forever.
