One Pussy Rioter Released; Two Remain in Jail

Today a Moscow City Court suspended the sentence of Yekaterina Samutsevich, one of the trio of Pussy Rioters committed to a two year jail sentence earlier this year. Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina will remain in jail to serve our their sentence.

According to a BBC report, Samutsevich was released because "[t]he judges on Wednesday accepted the argument of Samutsevich's lawyer - that Samutsevich had been thrown out of the cathedral by guards before she could remove her guitar from its case for the band's punk prayer.'"
