Melissa Harris-Perry Has Another Super Gay Show; GLAAD Changes Its Game

Kenji Yoshino. Lisa Duggan. Academic queers know these people—but most Americans do not. Thankfully, over at Nerdland MHP and crew are exposing 'Merica to ALL THE SMART QUEER PEOPLE.
Yoshino and Duggan were on a panel discussing the upcoming DOMA cases at the Supreme Court this week, as well as Hillary Clinton's new support of marriage equality.
But what was most noteworthy on this week's show is the announcement that GLAAD is changing its game, and its name, to emphasize their new imperative of supporting trans rights. From the press release on its website: "GLAAD announced that the organization has formally dropped the 'Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation' from its name and will be known going forward as GLAAD, the LGBT media advocacy organization." The acronym will remain, but the actually names changes (slightly confusing and misleading).
