On Jun 29th Lt. Dan Choi was informed by his National Guard unit, through registered mail and phone messages, he is no longer a United States solider.
Choi had become one of the most visible activists in the fight against DADT appearing on numerous cable talk shows, and initiating acts of civil disobedience including chaining himself to the White House gate, and a hunger strike.
Earlier last week Choi and fellow activist Capt. James Pietrangelo had charges dropped against them after their arrest in White House Gate-gate.

So far Choi has not made any statements regarding his official discharge, and news of his activism continue, most recently being his arrest during a Las Vegas protest. I'm sure this isn't the last we hear from him...

Dan Choi is the only man I'll ever love...
That's not true because I love my father and I'll love my nephews when they turn into little men! Lt. Dan Choi is definitely my definition of hero. He's brave, he's strong, he fights for the good of others, and he's not afraid to do so.
