Lindsay Lohan Nipple Art A la Johnny Depp and Kate Moss
December 11th, 2009 | 1:34 pm
Lindsay Lohan does nudie shots for Muse Magazine. Photographer, Yu Tsai, said that he took inspiration from Kate Moss and Johnny Depp's infamous and public relationship.
Actually, personally, when ever I see an artists appropriating an aspect of pop culture I appricate the commentary, its really a very post modern convention.
In this case, the photographer has referenced trashy celebrity culture with more trashy celebrity culture > its pop culture looking in upon itself, as opposed to being an original statement. don't know if that makes sense -- but I think there is more here than Lohan or her boobs, which i really don't find that appealing.
its such a reinforcement of untouchable glamourized celebrity culture; i loathe it, yet i love it. i love it because despite the artsy cinemetography, there's no hidden message within, its bold and up front; its a display of lindsay lohan completely owning this shell-perspective pushed upon her by viewers/media and throwing it right back at them.
You know I'm all about flipping the switch on society in art, which this clearly does. But I don't think that lil' Lindsay really gets it, and that's both the funny and sad parts about it. And also the allusion that she's jiggin' both gay boys and girls now.

If the TV or the radio says something to you it's OK. But, and I say this out of love, if it's Kitty, or say, the toaster, that's talking to you, you might want to just keep that a private special thing you guys share.

Now
Now that Marlboro can no longer make TV commercials, they pay Muse Magazine and Yu Tsai to make ads disguised as art.

Hmmm, what?
Grace, is this yet another example of our insipid American popular culture? Also, I feel like I need the Patch after seeing all that smoking.
