Butterfly Boucher's "Another White Dash" is more than just a soaring pop song with an unexpected arrangement and timpani drums, even more than a Triple-A radio hit; it has also been my theme song for the past few years as I have moved back and forth across the country. And I am grateful for its firm standing on all counts.
But it took meeting Butters in Nashville to fully appreciate her work. She flat out rocks... with sly lyrical humor and tasty musical surprises and immensely bad-ass talent. Her three-minute pop tunes pack a wallop, and we're all the better for it. Her new CD Scary Fragile comes out June 2.

She's awesome. I met her in Paris when she was opening for Sarah McLachlan in 2004, I think. She has a great sense of humor and a great voice. Glad she's touring again. Her myspace updates are pretty funny.
Chick bass player, yes! How
Chick bass player, yes! How was the concert on the 24th? She sounds so happy to be touring now.
Kelly, you will be continuing to post blogs about music and artists, right? Even though this was the last of your series of interviews.

Probably I will, as things arise. At the moment, I'm working so hard on the Costa Rica eco farm project that I don't have tons of free brain space or time.
And, yes, Butters is so happy to be playing. She'll be out here in June doing a bunch of shows. The TOT show on the 24th was great. She was so hot on the bass... you shoulda seen it.
Won't you be my neighbor? @theKELword
