Fact: Hayden Panettiere would make the cutest TV lesbian, perhaps, of all time. And we’re not just talking adorable TV lesbian, we’re talking adorable TV superhero lesbian. This could be EPIC. So what gives, NBC? Why you gotta be all takesies backies, then all gives againsies, and now? All half-asszies to boot.
As previously threatened, I stopped watching Heroes after I heard that Clare’s Sapphically crushed out college roomie, Gretchen, had fled their den of would-be deviant deliciousness at the tail end of November sweeps. But after being tipped off that Gretchen was due to return for the final two episodes before winter hiatus, I came running back like the sad, little all-too-well trained, Pavlovian lesbian TV junkie that I am — even though I still know better. Sigh.

Last week’s episode did indeed see the return of Gretchen, after unwitting lesbo matchmaker Papa Bear Bennet invited Claire's former roomie over for dessert on Thanksgiving. (Face-plant pie, anyone? No? Pity.) The surprise gesture was meant as a last ditch effort to get Clairebear interested in staying in college, after she announced during dinner her plans to drop out. And sure enough, seeing Gretchen again seemed to work like a charm… up until, instead of going back to campus with her, Claire talked Gretchen into coming along on a wild goose chase to follow the lead of the magical compass she’d stolen from dear old dad.
Would that they had ended up in a magical parallel universe with armored bears and wicked Nicole Kidmans who wanted to do vile things to their metaphorical sexual selves, but no, they found the lame ass Crazytown Carnival instead. Sadly, the closest thing we got to superheroic lesbian nookie this time around was a half-hearted subtexty moment of Gretchen making eyes at Tattooed Lady Lydia’s bared back and daring Claire to touch her. Sigh. Claire ended up ditching Gretchen for the carnies in the end, and in lieu of so much as a goodbye smooch, we got a chaste, BFF-y hug.

No word yet on whether or not we’ll be seeing more of Gretchen when the show returns in early January, although episode 4-16 is rumored to be titled “Close To You.” The one after that is supposedly called “Pass/Fail.” Oh, Heroes. This show has been so bad

Hey Julia
Did you ever get to see the Australian show 'Summer Heights High' in the States?
It's been around since 07, but I've only just started watching it ... I don't know how the humour translates in America, but I think it's hilarious
You would think it contributed to the concept of Glee ...

I vaguely remember it being on HBO and my TV junkie BFF telling me to watch it, but I don't think I ever did. Will have to check that out one of these days!

Guys ABC,NBC and DAMN sure not CBS
Are not going to show any real gay and lesbians (maybe just for 2 or 3 shows hell not even that long)they don't have the guts of the Fox network.

Deedee, ABC is doing a much better job than I've expected them to do with the Callie/Arizona storyline on Grey's Anatomy. You should check them out if you get a chance! They've been together since last season and they're super adorable. We're even starting to see the ups and downs of a real relationship with them.

If only
If only I could get into modern sci-fi and fantasy the way I did with the old Star Trek. It seems to be the only place there is any gayity in the world. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost that particular part of my geek self.
I wouldn't describe "Flash
I wouldn't describe "Flash Forward" as either sci-fi or fantasy. Sure, there's the whole 'technology is messing with us thing' but I don't think of it as being part of that genre.
Rusty, do you ever get frustrated by the fact that Joseph Fiennes character keeps saying 'this must be important because I saw it in my flash forward'? Do you keep thinking to yourself 'dude, did it ever occur to you that it's in your flash forward because you're following it now so it's a self-fulfilling prophecy'?

multiverse
Until this week's episode I thought they saw their reality but in a different universe. But then Lloyd brought up the multiverse concept with Olivia so now I'm less sure.

So now are you thinking that what they saw is one possible future but not necessarily the only future?

I'm just reading the recaps
I'm just reading the recaps on Heroes. I have a hard time recognizing what was one of my favorite shows. I hate the frakkin carnival. Why would any show go to do anything with after the X-Files. Just plain stupid. It will never be topped.

If there is a God(dess), Pee-Wee's stage show will go on tour after the LA run.
And if miracles really do happen, Pee-Wee's Playhouse will go back on air. And if dreams can come true, I will be taking over the role of Miss Yvonne.

No it was Lynne Marie Stewart. She plays Charlie's mom on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia now! Weirdness. Charo is in his Christmas special though.

After the thing with the kitchen knife, Dexter is dangerously close to outing himself. I can't wait for "The Closer".
Oh, if only Claire and Gretchen would get busy. Now that Hayden is over 18 I can say she's a little hottie. All adorable and blonde. The tease was enough to make me start watching this stupid show that I'd sworn I would never watch again. Curse you "Heroes"!
