Guns in Schools?
- The service having id "propeller" is missing, reactivate its module or save again the list of services.
- The service having id "buzz" is missing, reactivate its module or save again the list of services.
In the wake of the Newtown shootings, paranoia abound. Apparently, some people believe that the best solution to "guns" is "more guns." Right.
The concept behind this profound(ly stupid) logic is one of "defense"—but, correct me if I'm wrong, historical actions of "pre-emptive defense" include such gems as racial profiling by the police state and, oh yeah, the Holocaust.
Gun advocates blatantly ignore the entirety of the Second Amendment:
A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, being the best security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed, but no one religiously scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render military service in person.
In particular, they like to disregard the first clause, which is both a dependent clause and renders the remainder of the amendment dependent upon its existence.
Just because something is "historical" doesn't make it unchangeable...or just plain wrong in a present context. .... like slavery.
But these people hold Ignorance within their hearts; just listen to this idiot on Piers Morgan, who contends that teachers should carry concealed guns the classroom:
I am and am not at a loss for words. You?
