You know on days when you just can't quit sink your Obama man-doll into a vat of pee? That dastardly Obama just won't sink! Rather, still in disbelief at the now-definitely-sunken presidential dreams of Mittens and all conservatives in the true Red Amerika—save the ones still throwing out ballots in Ohio—, you refuse to give up. You refuse to change course or accept what you still feel in your godly-heart to be unacceptable.
You are Fox News.
If anyone has appropriated Foucault through a lens of delusion, it's been you, Fox News. "Reverse the discourse" has been the mantra you've kept close to your wallet. Fact? Statistical or scientific—that shit don't matter, ammi right?
What really amazes me is the consistent string of pundits, who can best be described as idiot savants (at worst, bigoted racist sexist [BEEP]), that grace your broadcasts hourly.
I always get a particular delight when I see a woman de-cry the evil effects of feminism on your network. Feminism, rather than simply the belief that women are people too, is utterly "unnatural." It has perverted the natural course of mankind—it has, gasp!, made women "unmarriageable" material, according to Fox contributor Suzanne Venker, who, in her recent column "The War on Men" (how original!), bemoans how feminism has turned all women into beasts of independent self-sufficiency...or, worse, child-hating lesbians (cough cough). Because of feminism, "women have changed a lot"—and for the worse.
I'm so tired of this—of women fighting women, espeically when it comes to feminism. And I think it's particularly interesting that the media—dominated by men and for men (here I'm going to paraphrase Helen Mirren's comment that the media bows down to the "25-year-old penis")—find a way to elevate these fights. Because, frankly, Venker's piece is shit. It's just rubbish. And, yet, it's found its way across media, online and on tv, including last night's The Colbert Report.
Men are doing this on purpose, ladies. Wake the fuck up.
In the spirit of men speaking for women and men puppeteering women in the media, here's the Colbert segment in full:
