Multi-media documentary project SIGNIFIED is now in it's second season; the project aims to increase the visibility of queer identified individuals and organizations as well as create local, regional, and international networks for strategic community organizing and resource sharing. It is comprised of an ongoing web series of short video profiles, an online platform for educational resource exchange as well as an ongoing discussion forum to make accessible the work of a diverse range of queer people and organizations.
The creation of this project came from a desire to provide a common platform and common space for queer communities to participate in discourses regarding strategies of resistance as well as to provide narratives that document radical forms of interpersonal relationships, identity formation, self-love, artistic creation, collective education, gender re-imaginings as well as transforming State mechanisms that police our communities.
The third season is already in the works, and will feature interviews from Colombia, Argentina and Cuba highlighting the LGBTQ movements taking place in Latin America.
