On yesterday's "Uppers," Chris Hayes delivered a passionate monologue (which I found more compelling than his others...) about American apathy toward climate change. "Washington will not make it a priority," he intoned, "until the Left makes it a priority."
Like many environmentalists, he is flabberghasted by the "strange apathy" about the environment....the "oh, who cares if the Earth combusts?"
I feel that this apathetic opinion very much reflects the doxa of those people who believe in an "afterlife" (so why care about this world?) and who treat the earth and its resources for "man's use."
