Joan Jett, born Sept 22, 1958 is an uber Virgo with her Sun, Mercury, Venus, Juno, athena and Pluto all in the sign of discrimination, patterning and tangible manifestation. While initially in her earlier years, this may have manifested as criticism, self-doubt and judgement, she corraled the strong emotions into vibrant, fierce, songs of anarchy and rebellion.
Her musical generation (comprised of Neptune in Scorpio, 1957-1966) dug into the depths of despair, sexuality, drugs, to forge/pioneer the punk rock, rap and heavy metal genres. With her Jupiter prominently aligned, her cries were louder, fiercer and more rebellious than most rockers, male or female,of that era.
While there is no official birthtime for Ms. Jett, casting her chart for 12:00 noon gives her the rising sign of Sagittarius. This actually fits her quite well because Sag is about more, better, excess, over the top (yet with a hint of extra luck). This could describe her earlier years, yet with Saturn placed there, she would still be a hard worker and put some breaks on outlandish behavior. Also the Sag energy would be tempered by her very serious, hard-working Capricorn moon. She will do what it takes to succeed and won't give up easily.

Why I feel the time of 12:00 noon is pretty close to accurate is that it places her Par of Fortune at 1 degree Aries on the World Axis. This not only states that she will be known for her pioneering actions, but that over the last year, her career would have been resurrected. Jupiter/Uranus (unusual opportunities) has contacted this point on June 8th, and once again linked up on September 18th, last weekend, and Jan 4th. Likewise, her Vertex (fate point) has also been awakened in the last couple of years with an ending eclipse last July and a new beginning one on Jan 4th as well. Times are a-changing.
As a highly mutable sign, her identity is fluid and hard to pin down. Venus in Virgo and Mars in Gemini would also indicate changeability around sexuality, yet, at the end of the day, with Venus/Mercury/Juno conjunction would more likely indicate that she wants to marry/partner with younger women.
After many years in the industry, but more recently in lower profile, she is a hot commodity once again. In addition to her World Axis points being triggered by this year's cardinal cross, she is also receiving Pluto to her second house of money cusp. She might finally reap the financial rewards that are her due, while also reawakening some latent talents. She may have changed residences in the last year with two beginning eclipses to her Vesta (home asteroid) in Cancer. This could have also coincided with a new love relationship as her Mars/Venus midpoint has also been lit up by this January's very slow Capricorn eclipse.
Her Nodes, which always have to do with major life shifts, are also being energized in the last year. As a South Node in Aries, she has an old storied past of independence, revolt, rebellion, going her own way, often costing her long term relationships.
This lifetime is learning to cooperate! with the powers that be in getting her work and message out into the world. And the North Node in the 11th house has to do with mass media and the recent film biopic starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning is a literal interpretation of that dharmic placement.
Venus retrograde in Scorpio from mid October to mid November may have her reviewing her past and revising her public profile. She may also reconnect with former colleagues and artists and/or reissue previous musical albums as we all love this queen of rock and roll!

Virgo Anarchist
I love a little dykeotomy in a woman.
And yes, time matters in an authentic reading, but if you can't get a hold of one and acknowledge that you are guessing, why not swing it in the most interesting direction you can. Authors get to use a little creative license, and in this case, the reading is for our entertainment, not guidance. No harm/lots of fun!
Just curious...
I'm not an astrology expert (though I am a HUGE Joan Jett fan...been going to see her play since '81), but doesn't one's time of birth play a key role in astrological charting? If so, how can this be accurate without that information?
Just wunnerin'...
My Birthday Twin!
+21 years...
Very interesting.
Those of us who are late-month Virgos don't always mesh up with some of the more classic virgo traits - I really like this precise reading.
