Actress Brittany Murphy was pronounced dead this morning at age 32. The cause of death is currently unknown.
Today her ex, Ashton Kutcher, posted on Twitter: "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."
Our thoughts go out to Brittany's husband, family, and friends. It's always tragic when someone so young and talented dies so unexpectedly.

Reading this site is yet another indicator that I have no clue who most commercial entertainment people are. In any event, RIP to this woman. Whack when someone's gone unexpectedly..
I rarely agree with or would
I rarely agree with or would quote Ashton, but he's so right about losing a bit of 'sunshine.' She was an extremely talented actress--everyone talks about Clueless or Girl Interrupted, but it was playing opposite Drew in Boys on the Side that she really caught my eye. I also found her incredibly charming and intelligent in interviews--and very gay friendly. I remember her having a blast with Ellen on her show. A friend of mine worked with her several years ago and said only fabulous things about what a warm, witty girl she was.
It sounds like her downward spiral started with her marriage to her British screenwriter husband. Looks like they both were abusing prescription drugs, but she also has Type 2 diabetes which can often lead to heart problems in combination with pharmaceuticals.
She was very close to her mom and family--my heart goes out to them. And I will definitely miss her on the big screen.

She wasn't in "Boys on the Side", I think you meant "Riding in Cars with Boys".

Yes! Thanks Robin-I always
Yes! Thanks Robin-I always get the titles confused. Not the movies themselves--just the titles.
not drugs
she had flu like symptoms before she died. so everyone can stop with the "that's what happens when...". she just died yesterday. have a little compassion or if you are incapable of that, some respect.

Rollin' With The Homies
Its a sin but let's be honest - homegirl was a mess and this is what happens when you take (too many) drugs and don't eat. A girl of 32 doesn't have a heart attack and be found face down in her own vomit. I bet Tiger is super stoked right now.
blow up my ego @lvrandafighter
Spun
Not to speak ill of the dead, but that's what happens when you attempt method acting in a movie about crystal meth. I think Spun knocked her off her rocker and she just couldn't find a foothold. RIP.

"There are things of which I may not speak;
There are dreams that cannot die;
There are thoughts that make the strong heart weak,
And bring a pallor into the cheek,
And a mist before the eye.
And the words of that fatal song
Come over me like a chill:
"A boy's will is the wind's will,
And the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts."
~ My Lost Youth ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
It's sad to see anyone so young die...

If anything, I would assume
If anything, I would assume she died of complications related to an eating disorder. Girl had gotten way too thin in recent years. I always liked her in the movies I saw her in, it's too bad she's gone so young.

A GREAT Actor
I will miss her ,my heart goes out to her mom.
unfortunately
that was my first assumption as well. my mom told me and i asked if she OD'ed. i thought that because she was barely 30 and would have never thought of a heart attack. i never judge even if it is drugs. by no means does it give any one the right to say that their life was any less valueable or their death any less tragic. and yes, even when some one ODs it's almost always an accident.
a friend of a friend had an accidental over dose on oxycontin. he was a wonderful, sweet person. he was supposed to go to rehab the next day and i suppose he was having "one last night" kinda thing. sadly, it happens to good people and even celebrities because they are human too.
*** To Joanne below ***
Come on, her body isn't even cold yet. Do we need to accuse her of being 'on' something? If she was, we'll hear about it - if she wasn't, then maybe assuming such a thing is premature...
Rest in Peace Brittany...
There never seems to be a good time
to talk about how they died. Nearly two years since Heath died, has the reason for his passing really been acknowledged? I don't think it has.
The denial of obvious addictions & eating disorders in certain celebrities is astounding to me. The glorification that happens after a famous person dies "before their time" and the cries of "How could this happen?" and "I didn't see this coming, I'm so shocked!" are also astounding to me.
Heath, Michael, Adam (DJAM), Brittany ... the list grows and another E! True Hollywood story is being created as we speak.
Highlighting the reasons these people are dying prematurely, does not take away from their talent or the fact they were a sweet person. I hate it that she/they have died ... (I also noted BM could have had a underlying medical problem).
My first thought this morning: "There, but for the grace of God, goes Lindsay Lohan" ... I'm hoping she has one of these on her shoulder
Joanne, you're probably right....
Denial is never a good thing, for celebrities, or anyone for that matter. It's always so sad when a young life is cut short...
Such a waste
of an cool character actor
I've been wondering what she was 'on', for a long time ... her appearance and behavior changed so drastically from when she appeared in Clueless

If she didn't have an underlying heart condition or unknown medical problem, I'm sure they will label this death as yet another "accident".
RIP.
