Did anyone

accidental fall upon that ridiculous CSI meets House, (without the clever doctor) in which the long-haired and gender-confused looking Kate Meonnig plays with a stethoscope?

i give this series 2 more episodes.

Three Rivers

I watched tonight out of morbid lesbian curiosity re: Dr. Shane McKutcheon, and LORDEE what dreck. Cheesy, over-sentimentalized and under-developed storylines, resolutions to said half-baked stories that come WAY too easily... It's really, really bad, and with a cast made of such fun folks (Alfre Woodard, "Mick" from Moonlight, You're Looking Very Shane Today)... what a shame!

I watched for a couple of

I watched for a couple of minutes, discovered the weak dialog and silly storylines, then turned the sound off to watch Kate Moennig walk around with her hands in her pockets and pretend to look like a Dr.  She did fine, but I don't give it much longer either.

yeah...

that slouching around with her hands in your pockets... it was Kate, playing Shane, playing a doc.

On another note, Is anyone noticing that the site is running better????

I feel like its running faster and smoother -- hope its not just in my mind. Let me know if you notice it on your side.

This woman is amazing!

I used to be quite the Broadway buff, and I have a huge soft spot for Kristen Chenoweth (or as I refer to her, "K-Chen").

She is such an amazing theatrical actress, with her most notable role being the orignal "Galinda/Glinda" in the Broadway musical Wicked.

She has also put out a few cds, and a hysterical song called "Taylor, the Latte Boy" which is my personal favorite. Which is below:

I totally agree with you 100%! Give this amazingly talented woman her own show!

Here's another one!

Here's another funny K-Chen video from the Ellen Show a few years ago, when she had her "musical episode."

Enjoy! :]

Jillian, that video is

Jillian, that video is terrific! Thanks for posting that.  Smile

I like Wicked so much I've seen it twice, and it just slays me that I never got to see the original cast.

Ooh!  Ooh!  Both seasons of

Ooh!  Ooh!  Both seasons of "Pushing Daisies" are available on blu-ray.  And they're pretty darn cheap at amazon.com.  Wish I wasn't flat broke this week.

Must see TV

So far this season my must see is Supernatural. That's shocking because the pilot scared the crap out of me 4 years ago and I skipped it until this year. A review on either io9 or the Torchonline convinced me to give it another try. 2nd season of Sanctuary premiers this Friday - woot, woot.

There's already talk of Dollhouse having just a few weeks until cancellation. Figures. Thoroughly enjoyed Flashforward and Stargate Universe among the freshmen.

I've been catching up on Legend of the Seeker in anticipation of a lesbian storyline this season.

Now KC fan

I feel dumb for never having heard of Kristin Chenoweth until last week. She was fabulous.

Hey, I know this isn't much of a sports crowd but is anyone watching the WNBA championship series? Game One was a doozie! I'm watching Game 3 this afternoon.Close.

Still searching for the right brainy quote.

WNBA....

The game was fantastic.....Wednesday's game should be good!!! Wink

You can also catch her on

You can also catch her on "The West Wing" if you see repeats.  She played a conservative lawyer that they hired onto staff.

Jules, she definitely deserves a nomination.  Love her!

Plodding plotting

Totally with you about that Emmy prediction for Kristin. I have to say, though, that I only enjoyed that episode because of her--and the musical numbers. I'm growing exceedingly impatient with the plodding plotting of GLEE. It's just too obvious. I was willing to overlook it for the first few eps, as they found their sea-legs, but if they don't get more ELECTION-like real soon, I fear I'll only make time for YouTubed highlights.

Julia Watson's picture

Yeah, I totally recognize

Yeah, I totally recognize that this week I was just more willing to overlook the giant plotholes because Kristin Chenoweth was there to fill them and distract me. Allow me to rephrase and say that SHE is the best hour of TV I've seen since last spring.  Smile

What about last week's season

What about last week's season premiere of "Dexter"?  I loved how they redid those iconic opening credits.

Julia Watson's picture

OMG, that was so great. I

OMG, that was so great. I love that they started off with a cliffhanger ending this season, too. I love the show, but I thought the pace of the first few eps really dragged last year.

Robin Rigby's picture

They certainly did start this

They certainly did start this season off with a bang.  Wonder how many eps we can expect to see John Lithgow?  I didn't think he'd be finding his second victim so soon, thought they would drag it out more.

Did you find someone to go see "Zombieland" with?  It's hysterical.  Bill Murray is awesome.

Julia Watson's picture

Yeah, I was figuring he'd be

Yeah, I was figuring he'd be in it for the long haul this season, like what's his face last season. Tami and I were both struck tonight by how much they're revving up the pacing, but I am taking that to mean that they have LOTS of story to tell this year, which is yay!

I think I'm going to go see Zombieland on Tuesday by myself. I'm pitching two script ideas in class on Wed, and since one of them is a comedic zombie romp, I thought I should see this one and make sure my idea is differentiated enough. Mine has two female leads though, so that has to help some. And I didn't know Bill Murray was in it! The cast looks SO FUN!

Robin Rigby's picture

Two female leads in

Two female leads in "Zombieland' too.  There's the main guy, an actor I recognize but couldn't tell you his name, Woody, the other Fanning sister and another 20 something girl who looks vaguely familiar.  Bill has a cameo.

Is yours more like a funny Romero zombie movie, like "Shaun" or like Jackson's "Dead Alive"?  Because "Zombieland" is more like a funny "28 Days Later", complete with fast moving zombies who aren't helpless automatons.  The disease even starts with a virus.

I just realized I know a ridiculous amount about zombie movies.

Just realized I could look up

Just realized I could look up how many eps John Lithgow will be on on imdb.com.  IMDB says 12 eps.  So that's the whole season.
