Boob Tube: Attention Bedevilment Disorder

This was a week of so many fascinating little TV odds and ends both on screen and behind the scenes, that I thought I'd do this week's column as an extended Boob Tube News smörgåsbord. So saddle up, kittens, we're gonna have us a little ramble.

First off, in what was perhaps a stroke of divine providence, my power went out this past Monday night and my DVR failed to record Heroes. Thus I was spared having to watch my own prediction come true as the Sweepsbian storyline between Claire and her college roommate, Gretchen, crashed and burned right on schedule. I thought about catching the episode online, but decided, since I’m kind of hardcore over the show anyway, to make a graceful exit from Heroes viewership here and now. That way Greaire (sounds kinda like Gruyere) may live on subtextily ever after in my head. Nonetheless, let us all sound off with our very best raspberry noises in the general direction of NBC.

Oh, Greaire, we hardly knew thee, but really wanted thee to keep making out.

Let's just get all of the bummers out of the way at once. Furthering my fannish disappointment this week, FOX has once more renewed my faith in their endless capacity for douchebaggery, finally announcing a few days ago that they are indeed canceling Dollhouse. Poor Joss. I may have a (yellow, Crayola-shaped) bone or two to pick with the guy, but he is undeniably one of the most talented and visionary showrunners in the biz. At least now maybe we’ll get that rumored Dr. Horrible sequel, though. I'm hoping it will actually be a prequest so we can get more Felicia Day.

R.I.P. as well to Eastwick, which I’ve still been watching on and off because of my perma-lesboner for Rebecca Romjin. ABC axed that one this week, too. (The show, that is; my lesboner for RR will live forever!)
