Bea Arthur Leaves $300,000 to LGBT Youths

Today the Estate of Golden Girls Star and legendary actor, Bea Arthur bequeathed a monetary gift to the Ali Forney Center of $300,000. The Ali Forney Center is a New York City safe shelter for homesless LGBT youth. They currently run emergency and transitional housing as well as health and family programs for at risk LGBT teens and young adults. Arthur's gift will go towards the purchase of a building that will house 12 additional youths, and it will be named in her honor.
