Astrology: Tending Tender Hearts, Mercury Stations Direct & The Sun Opposes Pluto

Our lives are bigger than this moment. Our lives are bigger than the job we didn’t get, the relationship that fizzled, the car accident we got into because we were texting or the IRS bill we prayed wouldn’t come but did. Our lives are bigger than the day-to-day events that make it up, so it’s not in our best interest to give them so much power.

Our lives are bigger than the tragedies, too. The immense losses and moments of inconceivable pain are not the entirety of us, though they inform and shape us greatly.

Our lives are, however, a collection of every moment that arises and falls away. We always have the opportunity to glean as much from each failure, each loss and each success that we can by using them as markers along our path. A few key questions can inform us greatly: Am I in the right stream? Am I a train on the tracks to Play-it-safe-ville or am I a train on the tracks to My-epic-journey Town? Am I in alignment with my soul’s greatest desire or am I just living like it doesn’t matter what I do? The bottom line is: Do I feel alive here?

Get the message and then get on with it.

Mercury stations direct this Tuesday, July 1st. It makes a sextile to the waxing moon in Leo just before it changes direction, and a trine to the north node that will exact the next day. The combination is offering up a moment of emotional clarity if we allow ourselves to pause long enough to receive the information that’s banging on our doors. This however requires a tremendous amount of trust. We must trust the signs, situations and events that occur in front of us—not as random happenings but as teachings that are at the core of our lifelong curriculum. The days when planets change direction are days that tend to reveal much about our inner needs, desires and motivations. The planet is said to be “storming”in this transitional period. In such a circumstance we can enter into the eye of the storm, run and hide from it or get lost in the flurry and chaos that surrounds it.

The days ahead are powerful ones to take note of. Considering how we enter each day can set us up for a life of epic adventures or a life lived too small and too quickly.

Do we enter each day with the goo of the past stuck to our feet, impeding our movement? Do we enter each day with a sheath of the past wrapped tightly around our mind making us think that we know exactly how everyone and everything will turn out? Can we open our eyes and have our first prayer be something like: “May I be free from the suffering of my own attachments. May I be free from the suffering of thinking I know how this day will go. May I be free of the suffering that is caused when I think I know who I am and what I am capable of. May I be open to all the possibilities that my life holds especially when others are not. May I be open to all the possibilities that creation has placed inside of me especially when the world says otherwise. May I know that there is more than one way of knowing, learning, speaking and communicating and may I value the multiplicity of my ways of being. May I honor all that is good in my mind and starve all that has been placed there by uncaring energies.”
