At 52, Kim Cattrall Has the Balls to Bear Her Boobs
The National Gallery in London and the National Galleries of Scotland have been trying to raise £50 million to keep Venetian Renaissance painting, Diana and Actaeon by Titian, on view in the National Galleries. The painting has been on loan since 1945 and on view in the Galleries for 200 years. The private owner of the work now needs to sell the masterpiece. The National Galleries have until December 31 to raise the money.
In a campaign to save the national treasure, a handful of contemporary artists have helped raise funds for the museum in various ways. Photographer, Tom Hunter, was asked to join the campaign by recreating Diana and Actaeon in photography.

Hunter chose live models including the very naked Sex In The City star to recreate the mythological scene. At 52, Cattrall managed to hold her own in a room full of 20-somethings. Cattrall said of her participation in the campaign that she has been a great admirer of Titian and that the painting is "like being in the presence of genius... it would be a tragedy if it were not on public view."

Second: yesterday I was searching informations about "le déjeuner sur l'herbe" by Edouard Manet, (impressionnist- I know Americans like them because they own Monet's house in Giverny close to Paris), and a photograph (Alain Jacquet) inspired by Manet, took a photograph in 1964. He gived the same title to his work, and it was indeed a lunch on the grass, like Manet.
I mean, here it seems to be an order to get people interested to the ancient painting.
Does it mean that we have to show actual photography to get people interest for ancient paintings?
I Know it sounds naive but when people are not used to paintings, their look don't catch immediatly the picture, and often, they don't like it. Because they are not used to it. It's not their universe of pictures.

Living art. It is awesome...... The Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach, CA presents an incredible gallery of 'living art' every year.... it is magnificent.
This is beautiful, indeed. However, one small observation..... the original art work shows a display of beautiful, round women. Voluptuous women should be honored for the beauty that they present to us. Sir Peter Paul Rubens, the Flemish painter, featured nude women of substance, in all of his paintings.... what a delicious treat to the eyes...
All of these women are beautiful, in contemporary terms. But, they don't look like the painting........ I'm just sayin'.
