Last night was the opening gay-la for Outfest 2009 in Los Angeles. I didn't go to the pre-party, just the screening and a quick cruise of the after-party. The movie of the night was Peter Bratt's La Mission, starring his brother Benjamin Bratt and Erika Alexander. It's a heart-warming and humorous tale depicting the difficult intersection of a gay teen and his father's Latin machismo set in San Francisco's Mission District. Most of the cast, including Benjamin and his lovely wife Talisa, were in attendance.

Prior to the film, Chaz Bono, in his first public appearance since announcing his FTM transition, talked about Outfest's inclusion; Christina Ricci and Lisa Kudrow made funny as they honored the adorable and talented Don Roos with an achievement award; and various Outfest folks said other things. Apparently Tabatha Coffey, Josh Brolin and Diane Lane were in the house, as well.
Here are some pics I grabbed from dlisted.com and zimbio.com:

You should check her out in "The Opposite of Sex" and "Happy Endings". She's amazing. I also loved "Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion". Hilarious. She's an evil bitch in "Sex" but still funny.

"The Opposite of Sex" is a Don Roos film. Both Kudrow & Ricci are in it.
Also, Kudrow has a web series called "Web Therapy" that's fun. Jane Lynch is a guest star.
