Something to Ponder
The following is something to ponder:
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ... you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare, even in the United States.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ... you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.
If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder ... you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

Wow, I'm absolutely speechless. Last week I was criticizing Perez Hilton....and today I found that he has joined the campaign to Save Ohio Libraries! He has a notice on his site informing everyone that Governor Strickland plans to cut library funding in Ohio by 50%, which would cripple Ohio libraries and several would be forced to close. (Hence my new avatar.)
lol This is why I am reaching a point where I don't want to comment on blog sites anymore. I had a similar exchange with "Itty" last week. The misunderstandings get frustrating without the nuances of tone of voice, body language and the immediacy of face to face communication.
I don't visit Perez Hilton's site. I do not follow his "Tweets". I have never visited his site...until yesterday, when the Columbus Metropolitan Library sent out an alert to Ohio Librarians about Perez Hilton putting a link to our emergency funding campaign on his site.
I was very surprised to see this because I don't care for PH and have been vocal about it in the past, but I was happy to see such a very important issue affecting millions of people get the exposure it deserves.
It does not mean that I'm suddenly a Perez Hilton fan and will visit his site again. It just means that sometimes it's okay to set aside differences when there is a very important social issue that needs attention.
Yeah I honestly don't know about that. I think someone from Ohio emailed his site and the administrator put it on. At least he's getting our cause some exposure, but I don't know if it'll do any good. Our Governor just released a letter to the public implying he's not going to change his plans.
PK. I love ya and please don't take this the wrong way, but.....I wouldn't care if Perez Hilton (his fake Hollywood name), bailed California out of our 24 billion dollar budget fiasco. He would still be scum.
