Gay Man to Helm Obama’s Personnel Department

President-elect Barack Obama is planning to name John Berry to be Director of the Office of Personnel Management. Berry is currently serving as Director of the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park and formerly was Clinton's Assistant Secretary of the Interior. Having a gay man at the helm of personnel management bodes well for LGBT workers across the country.

According to a UK trade publication which I receive, Obama has also appointed Bradley J Kiley to the role of Director of the Office of Management and Administration. And I quote -

"Kiley, who is openly gay, was also on the facilities staff during the Clinton administration".

No way would I call you that. But, I will point out that there are several Deputy Chiefs of Staff for the First Lady;s office. The first one picked was Melissa Winter. Also, I don't think gender is the most important criterion for choosing staff. Otherwise, Desirée Rogers would have had to wait for a female president before being named Special Assistant to the President.
